CHILD GUIDANCE CLINICS
PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR: Conn. Department of Children and Families, through 26 community based clinics.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Child Guidance Clinics are the largest providers of outpatient mental health services for children and families in Connecticut. The 26 community based clinics serve over 20,000 children and families a year. Child Guidance Clinics provide intensive and comprehensive outpatient services to children ages 0-18 and their families, regardless of ability to pay. Clinics offer evaluation, individual, family, and group counseling, psychiatric services, parent guidance, parent education, and parent support services. Each clinic offers services that are tailored to meet the needs in each community. Primary funding for Child Guidance Clinics comes from the State of Connecticut, with additional funding from Federal Government agencies, local United Ways, private foundations, charitable donations, and other community resources.
COST: All services are available on a sliding fee scale; Ability to pay is not an obstacle to treatment; Medicaid is accepted as payment in full at all Child Guidance Clinics
