WHAT IS PAROLE?
Parole is a conditional release from incarceration for offenders who have served a prison term, and may be granted before the offender has served all the time in his /her sentence. While on parole the offender is subject to supervision, and the offender could have parole revoked and be returned to prison for violations of the conditions of his/her parole, or other offenses.
The State of Connecticut Board of Pardons and Paroles is responsible for supervising parolees from Connecticut’s correctional institutions. Supervision programs include, but are not limited to, alternative incarceration, halfway houses, and reintegration programs.
