CONNECTICUT'S SAFE HOMES PROGRAM

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR REFERRAL TO THE SAFE HOME?

The Safe Homes are for children ages 6-13 who, due to abuse, neglect or other high-risk circumstances, are in the care and custody of the Department of Children and Families and the Department has determined that they cannot currently be cared for in a family setting. The children who are referred will have experienced multiple disruptions or a particularly traumatic removal from their family and are in crisis as a result, presenting as unstable and requiring heightened supervision.
